After months or rather years of waiting, a mobile platform using, which the buyers or shoppers can purchase goods over the internet or from the catalogs brought to them by their mobile phones, has been announced by a consortium in the United Kingdom.
While NFC or Near Field Communications was the most talked about thing in the just concluded World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, this recent announcement more points to the prosaic technology, which can be talked as same as a conventional SMS or an application of iPhone.
Mobile Money Network's marketing director Nick White said that the idea behind the prosaic technology concept called Simply Tap is all about requiring the customers to type in a four to eight digit product identification code, which would come printed on catalogs or ads.
However for using Simply Tap, the customers have to pre register by entering an address for delivery and payment method through a debit or credit card. When a customer needs to purchase something he either enter the code to the iPhone application or message the code as SMS for completing the purchase and having the goods shipped to their residential address.
The retailers are required by the system to be logged on to the general system, which will allow the payment address to be used through out multiple sites and stores.
