
A mobile phone consumer in the United Kingdom that amassed data roaming charges of hundreds of pounds has incidentally won a legal battle for getting back his money.
Mobile phone consumer, Neil Winton was almost billed GBP 800 by one of the leading mobile network operators and mobile phone carriers operating in the United Kingdom, Vodafone in two months after his trip to the United States of America.
The 66 year old Winton interestingly managed to get a refund after his threatnig the mobile phone carrier to take the issue to the small claims court.
The mobile phone user in question said that he did not realise why he was travelling to the United States with his Vodafone network mobile phone that he was incurring such outrageous charges.
This incident is not the first of its kind as regards to issues releated to mobile phone owing charges. It is noteworthy that the telecoounications regulator of the United Kingdom, Ofcom has already intervened in the context.
