Details have emerged of a Samsung smartphone which is to feature Microsoft's brand new mobile platform, the
Windows Phone 7. This device is named Samsung Cetus (or Samsung SGH-i917). This
Windows Phone 7 phone is supposed to have undergone the
Bluetooth SIG Qualification process and it is from here that its details were obtained.
The
Samsung Cetus specs are as follows:-
Screen - It has a 4" AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels.
Camera - There's a 5MP camera on the back and a VGA video-call-camera on the front.
Communication - It supports threaded SMS, MMS, emails, IM, voice calls.
Browser - HTML, Internet Explorer
Networking - WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Connectivity - micro-USB v2.0 and Bluetooth
Others - Stereo FM, GPS
The Windows Phone 7 had recently been previewed by
Engadget and
ZdNet among others, on a Samsung mobile phone called Taylor. So may be the Cetus might feel and work like the Taylor.
The
Samsung Cetus release date and price are still to be announced. While a UK release is yet to be confirmed, a North American release is already assured.
