Popular TV maker, Sharp, has been displaying their ware at the IFA 2010, being held in Berlin. Apart from 3D televisions, the company has also brought along a 3D mobile phone prototype to show off at the fair. This smartphone is auto-stereoscopic, meaning that, it can be viewed without 3D glasses.

Sharp has appartently used the same technology that is present in Nintendo 3DS, for the 3D display. There is a parallax barrier placed before a regular LCD. There are precision slits which present a different set of pixels to each eye. This creates a depth in the displayed picture. Thus, forming the 3D effect.
This 3D phone has a 3D camera too. One can shoot photographs and videos in 3D with it. Plus, there is an HDMI port, which can be used to link to a 3D TV, to relay the 3D content.
The Sharp 3D phone is expected to get an international release during this final quarter. The company also has plans of launching a 10-inch 3D LCD tablet into the market soon. We'll keep you posted on this.
