Smartphone market stirring up after Windows Phone 7 release?
Microsoft's recent launch of the 1st generation Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system at a Press Event in New York on 11th October has created news and also set the competitors on alert mode. Further Microsoft has announced that it will be releasing a tool to sync with some content that's in Apple Mac computers. Zune software in these computers will be able to sync with WP7. Even Adobe is coming out with compatible versions to sync with WP7.
Other manufacturers have already started pushing into the market their cheap mobile phones on the latest of mobile operating systems in anticipation of the WP7 release. How far WP7 will make a mark remains to be seen in the coming months. However the application developer will be busy with all these new operating systems. Tools for cross-platform use of applications will definitely be more in demand. The fact that the Wholesale Applications Community has got new board, level sponsor or associate members and that 11 operators have joined the applications development community is significant here.
Samsung has announced the release of their new smartphone Galaxy K. It runs on the latest Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. The Galaxy S model has got firmware update with Android 2.2 Froyo which is available with Samsung Kies program.
The update, according to some reports, for HTC Desire to Froyo, will be postponed. Nokia too is launching a new smartphone the Nokia C7, which will run on the latest Symbian^3 operating system.
