Smartphones no more tied to specific mobile networks
A significant shift is reportedly going on in the smartphone market of Korea as smartphones regardless of any make are currently available on all the major operators of mobile networks that exclusively hold rights for selling certain smartphones.

The credit for kick starting this change goes to Apple as it untill the previous year has been supplying iPhones just to just a single operator in a country  in major markets.

While AT and T is the sole retailer of Apple iPhones in the United States, the sole provider of the gadget in South Korea has been KT.

These opertors of mobile network had their sales boosted by focussing their maketing on Apple iPhones. This resulted in igniting a fierce competition with rest of the operators that pooled their resources into promoting the sales of rivals smartphones.

Meanwhile, a significant marketing campaign had been launched by SK telecom for Samsung Galaxy S white internet tablet, which drove other makers of tablet computers such as LG and Pantech to complain that their models were neglected by SK telecom.
