The global online search gaint Google is set to offer the option of a securing their accounts using 2FA (2 Factor Authentication) to all Gmail customers. Although this is the first time Google is offering 2FA, such security has been of wide usage on mass web mail.

The fresh 2FA option is understood to add an addittional layer of security, where consumers are allowed to designate a mobile, landline or mobile phone application to accept a unique one off logging code. This code is subsequently entered to the general combination of username and password.

Although the 2FA option is greatly secure, it also adds certain level of complexity. This refers to a 15 minute installation process decribed by the company that also leads a back up mobile phone in case of losing the primary one. This can be either a mobile phone or landline.

When the consumers access gmail via known browser apps such as a phone app or stand alone email applications, a particular on-off password is required to be generated for stopping the work of the application.

The convenience factor here is that the setting up of the verfication code for renewing every 30 days that in its turn avoids the requirement of a fresh one for each login.
