Star provides smartphone users with security for cloud
'Star' has unveiled a modern security service to prove to Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) that 'cloud' is safe for their businesses.

'ActiveEdge Authentication' of cloud ensures added security for the establishments for contacting hosted services by providing pass codes to the usual combination of username and password.

Phil Harber of Star remarked that the new provision was based on the requests by the customers who wanted to be 'secure' in the 'cloud'.

Of late security has been often violated. This service limits the responsibility of the user. The user may be using the same password for different accounts. That is indeed a risk.

ActiveEdge Authentication is something like the 'Personal Identification Number' (PIN) allotted to the individuals by the government or by the financial departments. The passcodes are sent to the smartphones. This grants two types of security, because PIN is necessary for accessing the phone as well as the unique code. The attraction for the service is its simplicity. It is also cheap.

The monthly charge is just GBP 2, for smart phone customers. The basic key-fobs are free. Sophisticated fobs will involve a small charge.
