Study against holding smartphones tightly
A scientific study carried out recently has proven that holding enterprise mobile phone too tightly could affect their signal strength.

It was the researchers from the Centre for Communications Research of the University of Bristol had found that the tight grip of consumers on devices such as smartphones could lead to obstructing the radio signal paths.

Although iPhone 4 smartphone was not specifically referenced by the researchers in the study the claims featuring in the online forums by the many iPhone 4 consumers that holding too tightly the Apple smartphone reduced its signal strength was supported by their findings.

It was only last year Apple had admitted that certain batches of iPhone 4 did suffer the problem of death grip. The company had subsequently issued iPhone 4 cases for free to some customers with a view to mitigate the signal strength problem.

Neretheless the researchers at CCR also found that the signal quality of the Apple iPhone 4 was unlikely to be boosted very much by a simple plastic case.

The report added that some covers for the mobile phones available in the market place were not likely to help in improving the situtation.
