Technology engaged to tackle mobile phone use in prisons
The Government of the United Kingdom has reportedly introduced certain technologies standards as part of a plan to tackle the mobile phone use in the premises of prisons in the country. However this has not been proven as a dependable, simple, cheap or quick technology.

The public service website had reported in December that more or less eight thousand unauthorised SIM cards and mobile phones had been found in the jails in the last twelve months.

Crispin Blunt, the minister for home office for the United Kingdom said in the Commons that for tackling the issue a strategy has been implemented by the home office, which was all about minimising the number of handsets entering the prisons for finding devices, which did get in and for disrupting mobile phones that could not be found.

Part of this plan has included the experimenting of a series of technologies of signal-denial in numerous establishments.

The home office minister added that the experiments confirmed that denying of mobile signals in the prisons was not a cheap, simple or quick option.
