HTC is making efforts to release Thunderbolt Gingerbread in September itself. The much delayed release, will be announced before the end of September, had assured HTC earlier. However, there are still doubts regarding its release.

Before October, HTC has to get its ready, release and get it to Verizon for distribution. The recent report and leak of Gingerbread ROM's new version suggests that there have been some progress.

Company has been seen responding to Thunderbolt owners on Twitter by assuring a quick release. Updates from HTC on Twitter said that the release is scheduled for later this month. End of September is soon approaching and only time can say whether HTC will be able to release the Thunderbolt Gingerbread before October.
