Tourism could be boosted by mobile technology
Funding for boosting the toursim industry in Nothern Ireland through mobile phones has been secured by a university of Ulster team in Coleraine.

For effectively turning the mobile phones of the tourist's into the personal tour guide of their own, money from the Nothern Periphery Programme of the European Union will be used to engage mobile application technology to frame vivid visitor data for for tourist attractions.

The news follows just weeks following the advice given to the entrepreneurs of Northern Ireland to refrain from sitting waiting for things to happen, for benefiting from the potentials of tourism.

Research and consultancy company Fast Future's Rohit Talwar has been one of the main guest speakers those were addressing a conference of the Nothern Ireland Tourist Board, which was carried out in a bid to taking advantage of the potential forwarded by the Titanic anniversary of Londonderry.

Talwar added that the coming years would be marked by turbulence with budgets emerging tight. According to him the areas of growth can be iidentified clearly by closely observing the growth, which reflected in their technology.
