Ever imagined that a petty mobile phone can one fine day turn into a grand Porsche through online trading? According to a Daily Mail report, Steven Ortiz, a teenager from Pasadena, California, did just that. The entire series of online trading on Craigslist took him 2 years, during which he got his hands on newer mobile phones, an iPod Touch, laptops, a dirt bike, even a Toyota 4x4 and other things.

Steven, who is 17 now, had taken a liking for trading stuff since his early teenage days. He would buy mobile phones from friends for about £20 and would then revamp and sell them again.

Not only the boy-stuff, Steven also helped his family get home appliances, like washing machine and tumble dryer, for cheap. He would get discarded appliances and then fix them up for cheap. Esteban Ortiz, his father, told the newspaper, "I think this is teaching him something. I want him to go to college, make something of his life. He is learning the value of things, responsibility and negotiation skills."

Currently Steven is spending huge sums of money maintaining the Porsche - £100 everytime he needs to change the oil and much much more for a regular service. He therefore intends to trade this priceless possession for a more economic car soon.
