As per the information furnished by 'iGR research', Samsung tops the list among the most preferred phone with Android operating system. As per their finding, 47% of the users in the USA do have Android device, out of which 47% are for the Samsung phones.

Samsung is closely followed by Motorola, HTC and LG, in that order. Huawei is at the bottom of the list.

The study also revealed that about 50% of the Android owners made a study about other operating systems including iOS before settling for Android. 30% of the Android owners bought it merely because of their faith in the reputed name 'Google'.

It must be emphasized that in the phone market of USA, the success of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) is based on the understanding of the consumers' choice of the phone and the operating system. This is the view of Sarah Thoman, who did the study. In general the current brand has an influence on the selection of the new phone. There are other factors too. The quality and functioning of the present phone are some of them, considered important for the consumer to make up the mind.

It will be interesting if the Android users themselves come out with their true opinion as to how and why they opted for the Android phone.
