While the windows Phones Have got off to a Decent Start, Nokia Announces Losses
While the sales of the smartphones with the Symbian operating system seemed to drop, resulting in enhanced losses in the fourth quarter for Nokia, the sale of the Windows Phones began well.

What everyone expected in the report was regarding the sales of the windows Phones, however Nokia did not disclose much , stating only that they had sold over a million Lumia mobile phones as of then.

As per the reports by Finnish company, their sales touched 10 billion Euro which was lower by 21% when compared to the sales of the previous year, resulting in a net loss of 1.07 billion. During the same time a year ago they had reported a net profit of 745 million Euro.

Analysts had anticipated that Nokia would sell approximately a million Windows phones.

Francis Jeronimo, Research Manager at IDC stated that the enormous investment that Nokia had made to promote its Lumia 800 led to the transfer of more number of pjones than anticipated.

As per Carolina Milanesi the Vice-President of Research at Gartner said that "well over" implied around 1.5 million pieces

She asserted that the fact that they had crossed the one million mark was what was significant. She said that they had to wait and watch to be aware of its full potency when more countries start selling the phones. Reports of the first three months would give them a better idea she stated through e-mail.
