Nokia E75 Mobile Phone versus HTC Touch Pro Mobile Phone
While Nokia are known for their rugged and sturdy handsets, HTC have created a reputation for making attractive mobile phones. Both mobile phone makers have cast magic on users with many of their handsets, while also creating tough competition for each other. The Nokia E75 Mobile Phone and the HTC Touch Pro Mobile Phone have similar form factors and putting them both under the eagle's eye would really be interesting.




Operating system - The Nokia E75 model features the native Symbian Series 60 3rd edition operating system. On the other hand, the HTC Touch Pro ships with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system.

Display and Form factor - On the display front, Nokia E75 phone has a 2.4" screen, which presents a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The slider panel that has the screen, also has an alpha-numeric keypad, which allows the user to use this device like a regular mobile phone too. HTC Touch Pro phone has a 2.8" touch sensitive screen which presents a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The slider panel does not include a numeric keypad. However, there are dedicated buttons for Send, End Call, Back, Home and a navigation pad.

Camera - Another common feature that both these cell phones share is a 3.2 Megapixel web camera, that has been integrated into them. The HTC phone, however has an additional VGA CMOS camera too.

Networking - Both these models support WiFi and Bluetooth v2.0 connectivity. Quad band GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3G technology with WCDMA are compatible with either of the devices as well. The Nokia E75 phone has an integrated A-GPS receiver with support for Nokia maps, to make use of location based applications. The HTC Touch Pro phone has a GPS antenna integrated into it, with maps support as well, to give turn-by-turn route navigation.

Memory - Nokia E75 has a user memory of 50MB internally, while HTC Touch Pro has 288MB. Both have microSD card slots for memory expansion.

Connections - The HTC model houses a HTC ExtUSB which is a 3-in-1 connection for a mini USB 2.0 port, an audio jack and a TV output. There are a built-in microphone and a speaker as well. The Nokia model has a USB 2.0 port, a 3.5 mm AV connector, speaker.

FM Radio - Either of the smartphones have FM radios integrated into them.

Battery Life - Nokia E75 smartphone offers 5 hours & 20 minutes of battery life for GSM usage and 4 hours & 20 minutes for WCDMA usage. HTC Touch Pro smartphone has a more powerful battery, with almost 7 hours of life for GSM usage and about 6 hours of life for WCDMA usage.

Dimensions - The HTC handset measures 102mm in length, 51mm in width and 18.05mm in thickness and weighs 165g. The Nokia handset on the other hand is 111.8mm long, 50mm wide, 14.4mm thick and weighs 139g. Thus the HTC Touch Pro is the bigger and heavier cell phone.

Price - HTC Touch Pro is a more expensive phone when compared to Nokia E75.

Special features - Nokia E75 Smartphone is more of a multimedia phone. It houses a music player, which is compatible with many audio file formats. These mobile phones can also access the Ovi Service to download music, games, maps and more. Other convenient features that this device offers are the Text-to-Speech feature and Voice dialling. The inbound messages can be read out to the user. For making calls, both speaker dependent as well as speaker independent voice dialling are offered. The HTC Touch Pro Smartphone is more a professional's phone. Being a touchscreen device, it has the TouchFLO 3D User Interface, which lets users operate on the screen with ease. This Nokia mobile phone also supports video calls.
