All eligible smartphone owners worldwide irrespective of the carrier will get the 'Mango' update soon.

Windows Phone 7.5, codenamed Mango, will provide at least 500 new features to the operating system which include Twitter integration, email conversion threads etc.

Some Windows Phone 7 users will also have their firmware updated.

Eric Hautala of Microsoft remarked that Firmware is the software provided by the phone makers to improve performance, fix bugs, activate new features if the hardware supports them and so on. There is no need of it for each and every phone owner. It depends on the carrier, phone model, country etc.
