Samsung has already mastered the art of making high resolution camera mobile phones. The mobile handset maker has gadgets like Samsung Pixon M8910 12MP camera phone and Samsung Pixon M8800 8MP camera phone to their credit. Now, the company have tried their hands at another 12 Megapixel camera phone called the Samsung SCH-W880 Mobile Phone. What's different about this handheld is it has highly deceiving looks. It actually looks like a camera! The lens has 3x optical zoom capability, making it protrude from the main case. This device is supposed to be the first of its kind.

There are other novel features that you'd appreciate about this cell phone. The gizmo features a 3.3" 800 × 480 pixels AMOLED screen. Apart from viewing the photographs and videos that you capture, you can also watch TV, with the T-DMB mobile TV receiver integrated into it. Recording videos happens at 1280×720p with 30 frames per second. This means high definition and high clarity videos. Like the Apple iPhone 3G S, this mobile phone too allows tap to focus functionality. You just need to tap on the subject to be shot on the screen, and the camera phone will take care of the focussing. Other convenient features offered by this gizmo are face recognition, shake reduction, Smart Auto and a Xenon flash, which work hand in hand to give you the perfect shot.



You can even transfer images to printers or your PC via Bluetooth. There is an internal memory of 4GB, which can hold a good amount of content. Moreover microSD cards with a maximum of 32GB capacity are supported too. You can thus store files as well as share them with other gadgets via these cards. Finally, this handheld is 3G (HSDPA) ready, which means you get speedy internet access. WiFi and GPS are also supported. The Samsung SCH-W880 12 Megapixel Camera Phone will initially be stepping into the Korean market. Nothing's been mentioned about a release elsewhere, as of now.
