The Elm is a feature rich smartphone. It has a simple clear layout and intuitive keys and easy to use functionality. The handset comes boxed in a small package made from recycled paper along with an energy efficient wall charger and nice headphones. The printed manual is actually replaced by a e-manual loaded  on-board. The phone has a complimentary silver back which is curved. The screen in front  is a 2.2 inch, 240x320 pixel type, which although small in mobile phone comparison, does suffice.

Connectivity options are not lacking either. It is WiFi enabled, has Bluetooth and has high-speed HSPA compatibility. Through the graphical Access Net Front version the browser does a good job. The screen sets automatically to view horizontally or vertically thanks to the accelerometer.

Applications come aplenty on the Sony Ericsson Elm.  There's a "green calculator" to calculate CO2 emission. A Walk Mate Eco uses the accelerometer to count your steps as a pedometer. The GPS application uses the Google Maps V3 software to help you navigate. He phone comes loaded with games too. Besides you can download apps when you need them through the internet.

This smartphone has a low power consumption concept and so has standby time claimed at 446 hours. The headphone and charging socket are one and custom to Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
The noise reduction capability in the phone is very helpful to make and take calls in clarity. Calling and messaging is easy on this phone. The phone measures 110x45x14mm and weighs 90 grams. All said, its another compact, simple smartphone from Sony Ericsson.
