The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Smartphone, like the predecessor model, the Xperia X1, is a slider phone with a QWERTY keyboard. Most of the features are inherited directly from the older model. There are a few differences too. While the Xperia X1 ran the Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, the Xperia X2 will run the Windows Mobile 6.5 edition. The keys of the newer Xperia are larger too, and therefore must be easier to work on. Even the screen is a little bigger in the Xperia X2. This 3.2" screen offers the same resistive touch capability and the same resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, like the older brother.

There is an 8 Megapixel camera integrated into the Xperia X2, while the Xperia X1 had just a 3.2MP one. With this high resolution camera, you can capture photographs as well as record video clips. Features like autofocus, image stabilization and digital zoom up to 16 times, will help make your shot perfect. You can even geo tag the images. Let your friends view your captures as well, by uploading these files to the web. A secondary video call camera is present in this phone too.

Listen to music with the media player that's built into this mobile handset. Since it supports stereo Bluetooth, you can use wireless Bluetooth headsets to listen to the music too. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack packed in this gadget. With the Xperia X2, you can contact people via SMS, MMS, emails, Instant messenger, apart from calls. Surfing the web can be done using the Internet Explorer that comes preloaded in it. Accessing the internet pages, downloading and uploading can all be done with high speed, all thanks to the 3G ability of this handheld. Moreover, this WiFi proficient gizmo can access the internet at hotspots too. The A-GPS component which is part of this enterprise mobile phone, helps you know your location and surroundings better. An interesting feature that this device presents is the TV output cable, which can be used to connect to a Television, when giving presentations.

Linking or data sharing can be done using Bluetooth, microUSB port or microSD cards. Cards of up to 16GB are supported. There is a Qualcomm MSM 7200 528MHz processor working behind the scenes in the Xperia X2.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Windows 6.5 Mobile Phone will come clad in elegant black or modern silver. It is expected to hit markets sometime this month on the Vodafone network; hopefully with plenty of attractive deals and offers. Pricing is not known yet.
